Quinte Film Alternative, Belleville, Canada, May 1997

Eleanore, Roy & LisaGrandpa's Fingers was filmed on location in Belleville, Ontario, about 2 hours east of Toronto. Since Roy Monk, Leah Kimball and Haili Kimball all live in that area, it was easier to take the crew to them, rather than bring them to Toronto. Especially since Grandpa wouldn't agree to appear in the film until the last minute.

We received a warm welcome from the local crowd, who were tolerating the unusually cold weather for late May at the "screening under the stars". The 88 year old Roy Monk was a celebrity in his own town.

Grandpa's Fingers was screened after Maria Drazilov's film, My Mom Works at Sears, an ironic film since my mom works at Sears too! With the Sears central wearhouse located in Belleville, so most of the audience works at Sears too, and really enjoyed the film.
